I bring nearly 20 years of experience in the wedding and events industry with me to every wedding— because of my time in this industry, I understand the flow and pulse of an event. I can anticipate the moments unfolding, making my work authentic, true to my client’s personalities, and timeless. The best part of photographing weddings is that each one is different and filled with unique personal history and community— this is where observing interactions creates unexpected and ‘candid’ photographs. My goal is to be unnoticed by most but to spend the day with you as a friend, someone you invite into the intimate moments as a fellow human being who will mix it up with your family and friends; this is how I make meaningful photographs that tell your story— photographs that go beyond documenting how it looked, I make sure you remember how it felt.
The couples I choose to work with must understand the assignment. Their job is to be in it— be present, immersed in every interaction, and comfortable being themselves even when the camera points in their direction. Their main goal must be to experience their day fully, taking time to be together and be with their people. Their goal is not to get great photos; I’ll handle that. Their goal is not to aim for perfection and social media trends; they need to trust that having a day that is meaningful to them is far more valuable than any pose or prop. I’ll often tell you to lean into the emotion, not to brush away the urge to emote, because feeling it is the best part…it’s the whole point.
I like to have fun and keep things light, but I mostly want you to be yourself…whatever that means for you is fine by me!
